Giving advice to the friend who needs to furnish his/her dorm room. What should he or she buy?

The furniture that he or she should buy could be a small thing not too big so it can move easy when you have to move furniture back to his or her house. He or she should buy the furniture with the color that makes his or her mind relax such as blue or green. If he or she wants to save money she could buy the seconded hand furniture. He or she should do the research on the internet or visit the furniture shop to know basic information and guidelines so he or she could have the most enjoyment and the most value for his or her furniture dollar. He or she should buy the furniture that the materials, construction and styles match with his or her personality.

April break!

April break, I would like to stay at the dorms, watch the movie and cook Thai food. I don’t have any plan to go to the other city. I just want to spend my time with my friends and do the activities together. Especially on Saturday afternoon, I have a plan to cook Japanese food call “okonomiyaki” with Japanese friends. I would love to cook Thai food for them also. I really like okonomiyaki. Okonomiyaki is Japanese food means whatever you like to grilled. It makes with flour, cabbage, and pork or beef or squid (whatever you like to add in your okonomiyaki!!!). The special part of okonomiyaki is the toppings. It has the sauce call Okonomiyaki sauce, Mayonnaise, and Katsuo-bushi (dried fish flakes). I’m really excited about tomorrow (the day I write this is Friday). Besides music and guitar I love to eat. I enjoyed it.

reflection about mindset list

Their summer course has always been “work and travel” in the USA.Thai teenager looking for some new experience by traveling. One of their choices is work and travel in other country such as England and USA because those countries have a different view from Thailand and the higher currency than Thailand. They have to take an English test if their English is pass then they have to pay the money for an agency that cost about 100,000 THB. or about 2,700 USD. Then the agency will help them figure out the place to live and the restaurant to work such as starbucks coffee, Mcdonald's or Thai restaurant and many other places. For me, friends around me came to America for this program they said that it is good to come to the US and not only to travel they can work to gain the money, also can practice their English, and gain new experience.

Thai airways ticket has always been too expensive for Thai people.Thai people don’t know why the Thai airways is so expensive maybe because of the good service but I think other company are also good such as I visited to the US I came with China airlines that cost about 1,500 USD but for Thai airways is cost about 2,000 USD. This is the big different for us.

They are born the year of I-pod and MAC that was introduced by Apple.Actually this is the topic that I talked with my mom. We call this thing as materialism. For us those things I-pod and Computer are so convenience but many times they steal our common life time. If we notice TV and Internet is steal our time to do activities together. We don’t have conversation or going out because of we need to do stuff on computer. We don’t have a chance to listen to the music from nature from the birds, the wind, and the river because headphone is one part of our body. Sometimes technology steal our life so be careful.

Mindset List for the class of 2010

Mindset List for the class of 2010
On the website http://www.beloit.edu/mindset/2010.php has a list of Mindset of 2010. I choose the 5 of them from 75 choices that I think it’s interesting.
56. They have never put their money in a "Savings & Loan."(well, where are they put their money in? )
45. Green tea has always been marketed for health purposes. ( why green tea? how about white tea, black tea, or thai milk tea?? hehehe)
19. "Google" has always been a verb.( this is sound interesting there's not only "google" but also "facebook")
17. They grew up pushing their own miniature shopping carts in the supermarket.
2. They have known only two presidents. ( Do you think who are those two ??)

Activity 2 page 35

When they finished they had walk out and took all the plate to the machine of dish room.

Changing Season

On Thursday 26th February 2008, was having a snowstorm in Eau Claire. I was at transfer center going to do service learning with Nan. The snow was falling from the sky. It was so pretty but very cold. The snow was increasing in only 1 hour. I was taking a picture and also play the snow. Even though it was cold but it was also beautiful day with snow falling from the sky. I like that moment when I saw tons of snow falling down from the sky.

What in-groups you might have/could have belonged to had you been born 100 years ago?

My in-group that I might have belonged to if I had been born 100 years ago was the Siam People.Thailand 100 years ago was not call as Thailand but Siam. Thailand 100 year ago still had a slave system; at that time I could have been at home doing housework as a slave in a royal family. I would have lived and worked with many people that came from different part of Siam to worked as a slave. It could have been so heavy work because at that time there would not have a convenient things and technology as present. I could not go out from the royal place. I could have been comfortable by have a food to eat and a place to sleep but I could not have a freedom and my own decision. I would have to be at the royal place and worked as a slave all day and night.

Service Learning opportunity

For Service Learning opportunity in this semester, I choose to do the same thing as last semester. That is Music Therapy. I taught guitar for the women who is disabling. That was so fun and inspired me in music therapy program. I taught her to play the basic chord with only one finger one the bar of guitar. We also had a recital last semester. I had to meet Professor Lee Anna every week. She is Music Therapy program professor to know how is going with the women I teach guitar and have to make a plan for next lesson. Professor gives me a chance to design how to teach her too.

It was not only I gave her my skill but she and her family also teaches me in many things such as English skill and American culture. I also knew how to ride a bus because I had took a bus to go to her house by myself.

This semester I think I could start to do service learning next week because I will meet Professor Lee Anna this coming Friday. It should be a good time to give other people with my skill in music.

BOB

Last Wednesday I participated in BOB (Blugold Organizations Bash). This semester the event located at council fire Room in Davies Center. Actually last semester I joined this event also.It was outside around the clock tower because there were fall season and were not cold. I joined Japanese club and Hmong club.

This semester were many Organizations for UWEC students to join such as the club about sport, charity, art, culture, and language. For me, I interested in the club about art or music and they have a club call NOTA (None of the Above) and Sigma Alpha lota.

NOTA (None of the Above) is the campus creative arts magazine, published once a semester. Sigma Alpha lota is the club about International Music Fraternity for Women.
I talked with the girls who are at the booth of the club NOTA and Sigma Alpha lota. They just invited me to join the first meeting that’s coming. They will send me the date by e-mail later.

I think this event is very good for UWEC students that totally different from my home university because my home university don’t have many club like this in university. UWEC have many organization and activities for students to do except only study.

#1 unexpected things

Last week I went to Miami, Florida with 12 of friends include me. There are 7 American friends, 2 Japanese, 2 Mongolia and 1 Thai (me). We went there for 10 days since 12nd Jan.On 22nd Jan, we were having a plan to leave Miami at 1 am by the plane. Our plan was take the airplane from Miami to Chicago, take a bus to Minnesota and then drive a car to Eau Claire. But the plan was change. We changed the airplane ticket to 4pm. And will take a bus from Chicago to Madison and then one of American’s friend parents will drive us from the bus station in Madison to Eau Claire. That was make me unexpected because we wasted our time of the 22nd date in January 2009 at Miami airport and I really want to go back to Eau Claire because my friend; Nan had arrived Eau Claire and I needed to prepare for many stuffs before classes begin. Eventually I and my friends were arrive Eau Claire on Friday 23rd at 4 in the morning.
